In the Beginning
Come let’s start at the very beginning and learn the basics of machine piecing and a few techniques for machine quilting. This class will give a strong foundation to build your quilting style and start you out with confidence for a life full of quilting adventures. You will lean how to choose fabric, rotary cutting techniques, accurate strip piecing and block construction, pressing for success, attaching borders and layering your quilt for quilting.

Rustic Yearning’s Quilter’s Academy – Freshmen Year
This class will be using the NEW series by Harriet Hargrave and Carrie Hargrave “Quilter’s Academy Vol-1 Freshman Year”. The class is designed to refine your quilt piecing skills. If you want your 12 ½” or 6 ½” blocks to be 12 ½” and 6 ½” this is the class for you. Joyce, your class instructor has had the course work with Harriet and Carrie and brings this exciting skill building course to you. You will learn the refining skills as you make the “Asian Nights” Quilt.
Each class in limited to 5 so please sign up early to avoid being on the wait list.
Class Fee is $98.00 plus the text “Quilter’s Academy Vol. 1-Freshman Year” by Harriet Hargrave and Carrie Hargrave.

Biased Beginnings
This quilt is a practice and learning in bias basics. You will learn how to work with bias, where to put the bias in your block and different methods of construction for your best results. You will be making half-square triangles, quarter-square triangle, flying geese, and putting them together into blocks for a stunning quilt. Prerequisite is the class “In the Beginning” or “Beginning Quilting”.
Class Fee $78.00 includes text and pattern by the Instructor.
Dates: Fridays; February 5,12,19,26, March 5, 12 10:00AM-12: 30PM
“OPEN QUILTING”
is held every Tuesday from 5 – 7 pm 0r 6 – 8 pm.with Cindy Farrell for $10.00 plus supplies for your project. This class is designated for you to work on any project you want and is for beginners to experienced quilters. Come every Tuesday or on an as needed basis as you need help. Please call and reserve your spot by 3 p.m.on Tuesday. If no one calls, class will not be held.
“OPEN QUILTING”
is held every Thursday from 9:30 to 12:30 p.m with Nancy Solsberg.
$10.00 for 2 hours or $15.00 for 3 hours, plus supplies for your project.
This class is designated for you to work on any project you want and is for beginners to experienced quilters. Come every Thursday or on an as needed basis as you need help.
Please call and reserve your spot by 4 p.m. on Wednesday. If I do not hear that I have students I do not come due to the distance I live from the store.
“FINISH UP PROJECTS” ~ formerly Scrapmania
This class is being offered to help you finish up all those UFO’s. Come sew for the day with lots of encouragement from your fellow quilters. The classes will be offered twice a month to accommodate those that work during the week, the 1st Saturday of each month and the 2nd Thursday of each month from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Occasionally a scrappy idea will be offered to show you what you can do with all those scraps hiding in the closet or a corner just begging to have something done with them.
Cost: $18.00 for the day includes written instructions when it applies.
Bring a sack lunch or you can get lunch across the street.

“T-SHIRT QUILT CLASS”
Create a wonderful keepsake using your favorite old t-shirts whether it’s a collection of Beatle’s t-shirts, t-shirts from high school or vacations.
This will be a two-part class. The first class you will learn how to prepare your t-shirts and the 2nd class we will set the shirts into a quilt top.
Class dates: Friday, Jan. 22, or Saturday, March 13. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each date.
Class fee: $30.00 plus supplies ~ Text will be provided.

“STACKED 4-PATCH POSIE”
Create kaleidoscope blocks to make this wonderful quilt by making simple 4 patch blocks.
Class Date: Wednesday, February 10 from 10 a.m. – 3p.m.
Class fee: $30.00 plus supplies. Text will be provided.

“IT’S A WRAP”
Wrap, wind and sew fabric strips into fantastic bowls, baskets or purses. You won’t be able to “contain” your creativity. Cutting instructions will be provided upon payment of class.
Class Date: Saturday February 13, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. or February 24, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Class Fee: $20.00 plus book and supplies

Super Bowl since the Chiefs will not be playing

Just simply don’t like football and would rather be
quilting, this is the opportunity for you.
Joyce and Nancy have been cooking up a
Quilting Super Bowl Surprise
just for you.
It’s a surprise so we can’t tell exactly what’s in store – only that it is NOT Football.
The surprise begins on Super Bowl Sunday at 1:00 PM – 9:00PM with the surprise, snacks and supper included.
When you sign up and pay you will receive the complete supply list and pre cutting instructions.
Class Fee: $40.00 includes pattern, snacks and supper prepared by the instructors – Joyce and Nancy.
